Thank you all so much! We have come very far in such a little amount of time. We currently stand at 43% of funding with over a month to go. We are working very hard on getting the word out there about this project and getting us to that initial funding goal. We love reading all the comments and suggestions from our backers and fans. That positive and constructive feedback is really appreciated. We are taking all of the comments to heart. We are adjusting where we can with a LIVE KICKSTARTER. As some of you may know there are some adjustments that simply can not be made during a KICKSTARTER. Having said that…
Update on Stretch Goals - We were able to negotiate with our manufacturing facility and reduced the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) on the Wings and Blank figures. This has a tremendous effect on shrinking the amount needed between stretch goals. You will see these changes now reflected in the KICKSTARTER..
Being transparent is extremely important to us in our personal and professional interactions. We wanted to take this opportunity to explain why it costs more than other campaigns to unlock the stretch goals.
Tooling costs cover the steel molds that go into creating the figures. We have a deluxe figure that features over 34 points of articulation, wings, extra heads, hands, removable armor, soft goods, weapons, packaging, and bases. We have to also factor in the cost of Kickstarter fees, fulfillment, and overseas shipping. The costs add up. You can see that reflected in the amounts for the stretch goals.
We have a few challenges that other ongoing or recent KICKSTARTER campaigns do not face. We do not have any Angel investors, deep pockets, or pre-existing relationships with factories before this endeavor. Essentially, we are not in a position that other creators may be in. From funding the tooling out of pocket or having reduced production costs, we will have to pay for the tooling and a production manager with the KICKSTARTER funding. The most prominent costs for a small independent toy company are tooling costs and Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ).
We have some pretty amazing figures to offer you at a deeply discounted price which is one of the advantages of supporting a Kickstarter campaign. What crowdfunding was originally meant for, is a Direct to Consumer product and the buyer is an actual investor in the company’s success.
Thank you for keeping the faith and supporting us as we enter into the next few weeks. We are confident we will start unlocking some pretty amazing stretch goals once the initial funding goal is met. We do have some shows coming up this weekend and into next week including:
-
New England Toy and Record Show in Dover, NH Sat/Sun
-
The Geek Out Show - Sunday
-
Toy Talk - Monday
-
Unboxing Art - Wednesday
We also have the Azrael prototype on the way to get some more amazing photos taken, this time by Realm of Toys 89. Keep us posted on anyone else you think might like to talk about the line, getting the word out, and raising the funds we need.
Thank you again for the tremendous support and sharing the love for the campaign.
